1940’s Pendleton Irwin Side Table Solid mahogany wood with lion head motifs and lion paws inserts one legs, good original condition.

The table is labeled as Pendleton IRWIN, Pendleton was a product line introduced by Irwin in 1940. It was designed for the "apartment" end of the market, being smaller in scale.

The manufacturer is the Robert W. Irwin Co of Grand Rapids. Robert Irwin started his company in 1919 when he acquired and combined Phoenix Furniture and Royal Furniture into one entity.

Pendleton is the name of a custom line of furniture introduced by Irwin in 1940. It was made until Irwin went out of business in 1953 and the name was sold to Sterling of New york.
